FAQ

Is FastBee open source?

Yes. The FastBee open-source edition is licensed under AGPL v3, and both the platform and mobile app source code are published on Gitee (see Links above). For commercial use, consider the commercial license.

Which device access protocols does FastBee support?

The open-source edition ships with a built-in Netty MQTT Broker (TCP 1883 + WebSocket 8083); the commercial edition additionally supports CoAP, HTTP, TCP, Modbus, JT808, and more. Video monitoring uses the GB/T 28181 standard. See the comparison table above for details.

What is the difference between the open-source and commercial editions?

The open-source edition covers product/device/thing-model management, scene linkage, rule scripts, and access control. The commercial edition adds the visual dashboard, SCADA, AI knowledge base, alert center, multi-tenancy, OTA updates, data bridge, work orders, and IoT SIM card management — see the comparison table above.

How do I deploy and try it quickly?

Follow the installation chapter for one-click Docker Compose deployment. A live demo of the commercial edition is available at https://iot.fastbee.cn; the open-source edition has no demo site.
