Device Connection FAQ

Common questions about connecting devices to FastBee. For the full connection workflow, see the device connection documentation.

1. FAQ

1.1. How does a device come online and get activated?

Once a device completes authentication, its status automatically changes to online and it is activated. After the device powers off or stays offline for more than 1.5 times its configured keep-alive interval, its status changes to offline.

1.2. Which methods are supported for adding devices?

Both network provisioning and QR code pairing are supported. H5, WeChat Mini Programs, Android, and iOS all support single-device provisioning; multi-device provisioning is only supported in the WeChat Mini Program. If the device does not exist in the system, it is created under the user account; if it already exists, it is bound to the user account.

1.3. Why is there no data in real-time monitoring?

Real-time monitoring data is for live viewing only and is not stored in the database. The device can report properties on a schedule (monitoring data is a kind of property), or you can enable scheduled property reporting in the system to store the data.

1.4. Which protocols are supported for video device access?

GB28181 cameras are supported, including stream push/pull and storage. Video stuttering is usually caused by a high bitrate; lower the bitrate in the device settings or use the sub-stream. See Video Monitoring Issues for details.
